  • We provide private lessons and group instruction, both in-person and virtual. The group instruction takes place in one of our partner schools, libraries, or community centers. Usually, this means that your child has to attend that school or be involved in the library or community center. Please reach out to us at info@qgchess.org to see if we are offering a chess course at a partner location.

  • We do not have a physical chess space as our work is grounded in outreach.

  • We provide customized programming for each partner, meaning we use our chess-based strategic leadership curriculum infused with partner goals and values. We offer programs each quarter (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). Programming varies depending on schedules, but most take place once a week for an hour after-school. We try to offer as much free programming as possible.

  • We only serve youth and children (grades K-12). However, we want to help you on your chess journey. Please reach out to info@qgchess.org, and we will help you find a chess club or organization near you.

  • Yes, we occasionally host tournaments, both rated and unrated (typically during Chess Week in Pittsburgh - October 1-8). Keep up-to-date on our events through our social media pages.
