Pittsburgh Chess Week - Northside Pop-Up Chess
Join us at Allegheny Commons Park for an afternoon of open play with large chess sets, portable boards, and instructors on hand to guide beginners and facilitate matches. This is a welcoming space for players of all ages and skill levels.
Pittsburgh Chess Week - Chess in the Square!
For one week only, Downtown Pittsburgh’s Mellon Square transforms into an open-air chess lounge. Giant chess sets, instructional signage, and drop-in lessons make it the perfect destination for casual players, competitors, and beginners alike.
Pittsburgh Chess Week - Movie Night
Spend an evening under the stars at Bakery Square. Start with giant outdoor chess boards for friendly matches, then relax for a screening of a classic chess film. Open to all ages and skill levels, this event combines the fun of the game with the magic of an outdoor movie night.
