Learn Chess at Millvale Community Library
Experience open play and learning with Queens Gambit’s Coach Luke. Free and open to the public, this program welcomes players of all ages and skill levels to drop in, play chess, and build strategic thinking in a fun, supportive environment.
Queens Gambit Saturday Morning Chess Club
Queens Gambit Chess Institute’s Saturday Morning Chess Club is a fun and welcoming weekly virtual gathering for young chess players to learn, practice, and play together. Meeting every Saturday at 9:30 AM starting March 14th, 2026, sessions are designed for beginners and developing players who want to build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy the game in a supportive community. Pittsburgh Chess Week - Oakland Pop-Up Chess
Stop by CFA Lawn at Carnegie Mellon University for a midday chess pop-up. Enjoy quick lessons, friendly matches, and giant chess boards. Open to students, professionals, and the community alike.

Pittsburgh Chess Week - Northside Pop-Up Chess
Join us at Allegheny Commons Park for an afternoon of open play with large chess sets, portable boards, and instructors on hand to guide beginners and facilitate matches. This is a welcoming space for players of all ages and skill levels.
Pittsburgh Chess Week - Chess in the Square!
For one week only, Downtown Pittsburgh’s Mellon Square transforms into an open-air chess lounge. Giant chess sets, instructional signage, and drop-in lessons make it the perfect destination for casual players, competitors, and beginners alike.
Pittsburgh Chess Week - Movie Night
Spend an evening under the stars at Bakery Square. Start with giant outdoor chess boards for friendly matches, then relax for a screening of a classic chess film. Open to all ages and skill levels, this event combines the fun of the game with the magic of an outdoor movie night.
