Queens Gambit Opens Applications for Winter 2026 Partner Programs

Queens Gambit is now accepting applications for Winter 2026 partnerships, inviting schools, libraries, community centers, and youth-serving organizations to bring transformative, chess-based programming to their students.

Every season, Queens Gambit partners with organizations that share one goal: creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people can think critically, build confidence, and lead boldly. Through these collaborations, chess becomes a tool for connection and growth - helping students learn to make thoughtful moves both on and off the board.

“Our partnerships are the heartbeat of our mission,” said Ashley Lynn Priore, Founder and CEO of Queens Gambit. “We design every program alongside our partners to ensure it meets their community’s unique needs - because when youth have access to strategic learning, they unlock their own leadership potential.”

Starting this January and running through May, Queens Gambit’s Winter 2026 programs will provide free chess education to partner organizations across Western Pennsylvania and beyond. Each partnership includes all materials, equipment, and trained instructors - making it simple for sites to offer transformative enrichment at no cost.

Programs are offered in two formats:

Out-of-School-Time (OST)
Delivered two to three times per week between 4–6 PM, OST programs focus on chess education, strategic thinking, leadership development, and mentorship in a fun, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork and confidence.

In-School Programs
Collaborating with educators and administrators, Queens Gambit integrates chess directly into the school day - through advisory periods, enrichment blocks, or as a standalone leadership curriculum. These sessions strengthen focus, resilience, and decision-making skills while reinforcing classroom learning.

Programs are open to grades 2–12, with special opportunities for middle and high school students to take on mentorship and leadership roles within their sites.

Applications for Winter 2025 are open now and reviewed on a rolling basis. Space is limited.
